About Me
สวัสดีครับ — I'm Vorrapong Kertnat, everyone calls me ICE
I'm a full-stack developer at the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) in Bangkok. I studied Computer Engineering at Prince of Songkla University, graduated in 2021, and have been building software professionally ever since — mostly TypeScript, mostly on systems that real people depend on.
What I'm into right now
In June 2026 I started a master's in Financial Engineering at the UTCC Graduate School, and it has quietly taken over my side projects. My GitHub has drifted away from web APIs and toward portfolio analytics, risk models, and QuantLib experiments. It turns out that after a few years of building banking systems, I wanted to understand the math running underneath them.
By day I'm on the Office Automation System (OAS) team at BAAC, working mostly in Vue and ElysiaJS. By night it's coursework, portfolio math, and the occasional video game.
What I build with
TypeScript is my daily driver. On the backend I reach for ElysiaJS — I like it enough that I've contributed to its documentation — along with NestJS and Express. On the front end, React and Vue. For data: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, and Oracle.
A good chunk of my job is DevSecOps, so I spend a lot of time with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, ArgoCD, Helm, Jenkins, SonarQube, Trivy, and Ansible. On the side I've been learningRust — slowly, and stubbornly.
Where I've been
- BAAC — Full Stack Developer, Feb 2024 – present
- AIS — Senior Programmer Analyst, Sep 2023 – Jan 2024
- Sirisoft — Software Developer, Dec 2021 – Sep 2023
- Prince of Songkla University — Teaching Assistant for Basic Engineering Programming (Python), Jun – Sep 2021
- NextHop — Back-end Developer Intern (Express, MongoDB), Apr – Jun 2021
Along the way I've picked up a pile of certifications — Kubernetes for Developers (LFD259), Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, GitOps Fundamentals, Docker Foundations, a stack of Microsoft Azure fundamentals, and most recently Prompt Engineering & Agentic AI. They're all on my Credly profile if you're curious.
Writing
I write on Medium, mostly in Thai and mostly about ElysiaJS — using TypeORM's QueryRunner to handle transactions, or wiring up a health-check service with cron jobs and Nodemailer. Generally I write up whatever I just had to figure out the hard way, so I don't have to figure it out twice.
Away from the keyboard
I shoot competitively — or at least I used to. I was a student athlete and later a committee member of the Prince of Songkla University Shooting Club from 2017 to 2020. I also play guitar; my very first published article wasn't about code at all, it was about which bass string to play for a given chord. I follow football closely enough that two of my side projects are player injury trackers. And yes, there was a phase in 2021–2022 involving GPU mining and blockchain write-ups. Every developer gets one crypto phase.
